The French sloop of 1834
Such sloops were carried along as long boats on the big sailing ships or were used in the harbor area as work boats for the transport of goods and people. They could be rowed or sailed with the masts erected, and occasionally armed with a heavy cannon. This boat had a length of 13 m and is documented in the Atlas du Génie Maritime as a sloop of 1834 from Cherbourg .
The sloop ship model, photos and dimensions
The model was built according to the plans of Gérard Delacroix, ANCRE-Verlag , which in turn are based on the documentation in the Atlas du Génie Maritime (see above).
