The history of the De Zeven Provinciën
The De Zeven Provinciën was launched in 1665 in the Delfshaven shipyard near Rotterdam. She was a two-decker with 80 guns and was the flagship of the Dutch Admiral de Ruyter in the wars with England in 1665-1667 and 1672-1678.
In 1692 the ship was badly damaged in the battles of Barfleur and La Hogue against the French and was scrapped two years later.
